The Curated Space is a boutique Interior Design & Styling studio, based on the truly idyllic Waiheke Island, in the Hauraki Gulf of NZ. I feel really blessed to call this home, and being able to work here too…well, I can actually say that I’m Living the Dream!
I am passionate about creating beautiful spaces, and care very much about doing this sympathetically, by using sustainable and renewable materials as a priority, and aligning with suppliers that have the same ethos, and an ethical supply chain. Incorporating and sourcing vintage and pre-loved items is something I am equally passionate about. This led (a number of years ago!), to the birth of Hey Wilma, my own range of restored vintage furniture which sadly, I don’t have as much time for these days.
I have extensive experience on Waiheke Island, and in Auckland with both residential and commercial design projects, and have great rapport with my preferred local contractors. I believe that good design is the essence of happy living, and that form and function can co-exist…we need not choose one over the other! Practicality is my super power - I can put myself into a space, visualise it and really understand how it works, and how it will be used. If it’s not a functionally practical space, then the aesthetics are irrelevant.
Whether you’re renovating or building, it's super tough navigating this mad world of construction and supply issues right now! My design and product knowledge, and drawing on the relationships I've built with my wonderful array of suppliers to easily source products...makes the experience anything but difficult!
I love working closely with my clients (or not if your preference is to just hand it on, and get it done with minimal involvement), and invite you to get in touch for a relaxed chat about how I can work with you on your project.
